Travel Around the World - without leaving Torquay
08.02.08
Have you ever wanted to travel around the world but don’t have the time? If so, there’s help at hand from Torquay’s Bay Brasserie.
Based in the Riviera International Centre, the restaurant is launching its Around the World Club, adding an extra dimension to its hugely popular monthly theme nights.
Each month, customers will be taken to a range of different cities, from Edinburgh to Paris to New Orleans, Moscow and Transylvania and they’ll even be postcards which can be written and sent to friends from the foreign city.
Customers will be given a Passport and will earn ‘Brasserie Miles’ at each special evening and at the end of the year there will be a prize for the customer who has travelled the furthest.
The first event will celebrate Burns Night on Friday (25) and will earn customers 361 miles – the equivalent distance of Exeter to Edinburgh. The next themed evening will be Valentines Day with a visit to Paris complete with a French themed menu and Parisian music, staff in national dress and a decorated restaurant.
Bay Brasserie manager, Simon Northwood, explained the concept. He said: “We’ve always held theme nights at the Bay Brasserie and they’ve always been extremely popular. The launch of our Around the World Club is designed to add an extra element of fun. To encourage our customers to get into the spirit of the evening, we’ll be giving an extra 100 miles to anyone in fancy dress.”
And if customers can’t make a themed night, they will still be able to earn miles as the Bay Brasserie will be giving 100 miles per visit on any normal night.
The restaurant is open from Tuesday to Saturday evenings for dinner and parties of up to 30 can book to attend a themed night.
