Best foot forward for Bay Brasserie team
20.05.08
A 13 mile walk around Torbay's coast is going to be attended by a team from Torquay's Riviera International Centre – in the middle of the night.
The team is taking part in the Big Midnight Walk in aid of Rowcroft Hospice and Macmillan, raising money for people living with cancer and other life-limiting conditions. The walk takes place on June 7 and is supported by the Centre's Bay Brasserie, which is providing all walkers with a voucher towards a meal in the Brasserie as a reward for taking part.
One of the team taking part from the Riviera International Centre is sales executive Laura Arnold, who has been encouraging staff to train for the walk during lunch breaks and after work.
She said: "We are really looking forward to the walk, it's now fully booked and there's going to be around 1,500 ladies walking through the night. It’s going to be a wonderful feeling taking part in such an event, especially as it’s for such good causes.
"After the walk, we'll be rewarded by the Bay Brasserie for all our efforts – not just with a good breakfast but also with a very welcome chance to sit down!"
The walk starts at Torbay Leisure Centre with the route heading towards Paignton seafront, Torquay Harbour with Walls Hill being the half way point.
