TORBAY has received a psychically charged boost to it's winter season with the announcement that premier paranormal event Psychic Southwest will remain in Torbay for the next three years.
The annual three-day celebrity psychic festival takes place on the last weekend in February and will welcome some of the best-known names from the paranormal world to demonstrate their abilities in front of 500 guests.
In addition to getting to see familiar faces like Derek Acorah (pictured) and other TV psychics, visitors also have the chance to go ghost hunting at Torre Abbey and visit the 75 stall fair at the Riviera International Conference Centre.
Event organiser Kirk Field said: "After last year's inaugural event, we were approached by two other seaside resorts who made it clear they would welcome our event, as it was perfectly positioned in the calendar and has proved to attract a large number of well-behaved people who represent a diverse demographic cross section.
"But after the feedback we received from our existing clients, we feel we can continue to develop the event here in Torquay, and look forward to once again showing hundreds of our guests the magnificent Torre Abbey and show them Torquay is a lively out-of-season host resort — and a ghost town only in terms of haunted sites."
The event will feature an evening in the company of Derek Acorah, in addition to a chance to watch demonstrations from psychics Nicky Alan and Ralph Keeton.
Derek Acorah said: "I have some fond memories of Torquay.
"Devon abounds with myths, legends and hauntings and I look forward to returning to the area once again for Psychic Southwest."
The event is open to South Devon residents, too.
