THOSE looking to shift some Christmas excess have a chance to burn calories for charity cash next month.

The Riviera International Centre's Lifestyle centre has arranged for an Aerobathon on Friday, January 29, in aid of Rowcroft Hospice.

Qualified instructors will put fundraisers through their paces during a marathon three-hour aerobic workout broken down into back-to-back 30-minute sessions.

"We are really excited about this event as not only does it provide the perfect goal to get into shape for the New Year, it's also a great opportunity to support a very worthy cause," said Colin Pemberton, Lifestyle manager.

The Aerobathon, which starts at 6pm, will be broadcast live by Palm 105.5.

Sessions include core conditioning with Anna McGougan, salsasize with Teresa Bowden and yoga with Jess Huynh.

Water will be provided throughout the evening and a free finger buffet will be available to participants after the workout.

The registration fee is £10 which will go directly to Rowcroft and spectator tickets are available to purchase at either £5, which includes a finger buffet, or £1 without.

Participants are also encouraged to raise further sponsorship, and a Lifestyle 12-month aerobic membership worth £370 is up for grabs to whoever is the top fundraiser.

Participants must be at least 16 years of age to enter. Tickets and sponsorship forms are available from Lifestyle reception.

The registration deadline is December 31.
