A big congratulation goes the Riviera International Conference Centre who has been awarded Silver for the South West Tourism Excellence Awards 2009/2010, Business Tourism Award.  

The aim of the awards which took place on 23 November at Saunton Sands Hotel, Devon was to promote and reward the leading businesses and individuals in the tourism industry.

All entrants needed to demonstrate outstanding levels of customer service, plus exemplary facilities, along with a commitment to sustainability, recycling and the environment as well as being accessible to all.  This has enabled businesses to showcase their quality not just to the media and customers, but also to build morale amongst staff and gain recognition throughout the community.  

“It is excellent to receive recognition not only for our green policy but also for the great deal of investment we put into our staff training to continuously improve the quality of our customer care,” says Barry Cole, Managing Director of the Centre.  We are particularly proud to receive this award during these economic times and this proves that there are opportunities for growth in the Bay despite the recession.”

SS Great Britain in Bristol won the Gold Award and will now go through to Visit England’s, National Enjoy England Awards for Excellence 2010, where a staggering seven South West businesses received nationwide recognition in April 2009, making the South West the overall winning region.
