Breast Cancer Care is encouraging people nationwide to liven up Fridays this October by organising a fun activity at home, school or in the workplace to support the nearly 46,000 people who are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in the UK.
You can do anything to get involved as long as it’s pink and gives you that ‘Friday feeling’.
The Riviera International Centre is supporting the charity by holding a Pink Friday on Friday 30th October. Staff will all be dressing up in pink and are inviting customers to the Centre on this date to do the same. They are also baking special pink cakes, which will be available for sale in the Bay Brasserie restaurant with 100% of the sale being donated to Breast Cancer Care. “We have decided to participate in Pink Friday to raise money for a very worthy charity and would like to encourage everyone to make a donation no matter how small,” says Jenny Thompson, Operations Manager at the Centre.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK and during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, this October, nearly 3000 people will be diagnosed with the disease.
Every penny raised by this event will help Breast Cancer Care continue its wonderful work and be there for even more people.
How can you join in too? Getting involved with Pink Fridays is easy to do and can include anything from a tea break with pink food and drinks to asking your colleagues to wear a pink item to work or a girls-night-in pink clothes swap party.
Someone is diagnosed with breast cancer every 11 minutes in the UK. By holding a Pink Fridays event you really can make a difference to their lives by enabling Breast Cancer Care to provide them with free support and information when they need it most.
