The spectacular pro boxing event on the 24th October will include seven bouts, featuring Paul Brown in the Middleweight category as well as local man Jamie Speight in the super featherweight among others. Local lady; Krissy Shergold (28) from Paignton who will also be competing in the feather weight category, discovered her love of boxing at just 14 years of age when she started practicing Thai Boxing. Since then she has taken part in 5 bouts with 2 wins already under her belt and will be competing against Russian born Angel McKenzie (31). Angel has taken part in 19 bouts with 3 wins and has fought in countries across the globe, including; Denmark, Latvia, Belgium and Spain among others. Angel took up professional boxing after enduring a serious BMX accident and has also featured as a contestant in Big Brother 10.
Professional Boxing has not taken place in Torbay for over 16 years and so it’s not a surprise that the Riviera International Conference Centre are overjoyed to be the chosen venue; “we are delighted to be hosting this event,” says Jenny Thompson, Operations Manager at the RICC, “and tickets are already selling out fast.”
