Staff at Torquay's Riviera International Conference Centre have been praised by organisers of the recent Association of Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland (AAGBI) Annual Congress.
The Annual Congress is the premier event on the Anaesthesia calendar, with networking opportunities in addition to a superb multi-speciality educational programme, providing a unique opportunity for anaesthetic colleagues to discuss advances and debate issues in the speciality.
There was also an extensive technical exhibition with more than 100 trade stands featuring international pharmaceutical companies and equipment manufacturers.
This year the AAGBI joined Torquay in celebrating the annual Agatha Christie Week by holding an Agatha Christie themed drinks reception at the RICC, with a surprise Belgian detective guest!
Event organisers of the congress singled out Viki Thompson, Conference and Events Co-ordinator at RICC as always being one step ahead and a big factor in the conference being so successful.
Nicola Heard, Senior Educational Events Co-ordinator, explained: "Viki made my job very easy and was always on hand if we needed anything. I would very much like the opportunity to work with her again."
And she said the service given by all the staff at RICC had been first class.
