A celebration of all things English
28.04.08

Torquay’s Bay Brasserie is joining in the celebration all things quintessentially English with a week of special events.

Based in the Riviera International Centre, the Bay Brasserie is paying tribute to its Devon roots and joining in the first ever English Riviera Cream Tea Festival with a host of special offers.

During the festival, which runs from April 18 to 24, the Bay Brasserie will serve Devon Cream Teas two for the price of one between 2 – 6pm.

Kickstarting the weekend will be Fish and Chip Friday when Fish and Chips will be again be priced two for one between midday and 4pm.

And on April 20 St George’s Day will be celebrated early with a themed Sunday lunch allowing families to enjoy the special celebration together.

To mark St George’s Day itself, April 23, there will be an English Swinging Sixties theme night with a groovy 60s disco and a retro English dinner.

Barry Cole, Centre managing director, said: “We want to celebrate our English and in particular our Devon roots, so we’ve decided to hold a week of themed events. The staff are getting very excited about the week – in particular they can’t wait to listen to the 60s music again with our English Swinging Sixties theme night. I’m sure it will take a few people back in time.”

Other events taking place during the week at the Riviera International Centre include a concert featuring Chaz and Dave vs The Wurzels which takes place on April 21 – tickets are available from the tourist information centres.
