A trophy to be so proud of... and officials of Torquay Athletic Rugby Football Club ceremoniously place it on display to over 300 members and their partners when they gathered for their end of season dinner and dance at Torquay’s Riviera International Centre.

It's the first time in 28 years Torquay has won the Rhino Devon Senior Cup which they gained this season with a convincing win.

It was also third time lucky as the club narrowly missed victory against Barnstaple in the 2005 final and Exmouth in the 2006 final but there was no mistaking this year when the first team clinched victory to take the prestigious cup. It marked the end of their best season for several years in which they finished in third position in the league. The Extra XV also won their Merit table as did the third team, the Mighty Quins.

All the players took time off the field this week to celebrate their success when they attended the end of season dinner, a major event organised by Zoe Powell, wife of the head coach for the first team, Drew Powell, assisted by Laura Nuttall, a conference and events co-ordinator at the Riviera International Centre.
