St George’s Day is coming a little early to the Riviera International Centre to ensure mums and dads, children and grandparents can all enjoy the special celebration together.
St George’s Day falls on Monday April 23rd but staff at the Riviera Centre’s Bay Brasserie have decided to hold the celebration on the Sunday (April 22nd) so that everyone can enjoy a great lunch together.
Marketing manager Jenny Thompson explained: “Here at the Bay Brasserie we make a real effort to ensure customers and their friends from around the world can celebrate special days ...such as Bastille Day, American Independence, St Patrick’s and even Cinco de Mayo – Mexican Day.
“But obviously St George’s Day is extremely important and to meet the wishes of so many customers we are moving the day forward 24 hours so that families can celebrate England in the most English way – a traditional Sunday Lunch!
She added “The glorious English weather we have been having is really testament to how much we should be celebrating our Patron Saints Day. I expect to see a really good turn out”.
The Brasserie will be serving a traditional English fayre that will include a glass of Devon Cider Punch on arrival.
Our picture shows Naomi Morris and Theresa Castorina helping to promote the special day by waiving the English flag from the balcony of the Bay Brasserie.
