That was exactly the thoughts of Brians Jeffs, chairman of the organising committee of the ‘Last Night At The Proms’ when he accepted a cheque from the Riviera International Centre in Torquay to help local charities.

The Riviera Centre’s ‘Outside Event Catering’ team provided the catering requirements for the sponsors of the Proms which was held at Cockington Court last month.

It’s the third year the Centre has provided the catering for the corporate sponsors and food and beverage manager Ben Ferrer was delighted.

“We catered for over 300 people providing delicious picnic items, wine and waiting staff.

“We pledged 10% of our profit to the Rotary Club of Tormohun – the principal organisers of the Proms – and we are delighted to present them with a cheque for £273 – 80p”

Ben added: “Many people may not even appreciate that the Riviera International Centre specialises in outside event catering and our motto is – ‘ if you can’t come to us, we’ll come to you.’”

The sponsors who enjoyed the catering delights of the Riviera International Centre included Newcross Nursing, Francis Clark, Peplows, Ocean View Properties, Hooper & Wollen and Exway Coachworks.
