Torbay’s
leading conference venue has launched a new IT facility that will
ensure delegates attending meetings and exhibitions can keep in touch
with their offices and colleagues at all times.
The Riviera International Centre in Torquay has upgraded its IT infrastructure
to become an Internet ‘Hot Spot’ providing its clients and
delegates with wireless internet access at broadband speeds.
The ‘hot spot’ site development will mean that any delegate
attending a business meeting, conference or exhibition in the main conference
rooms can ‘log on’ to their laptops and link up with their
offices or work colleagues anywhere in the world.
It’s the idea of managing director Barry Cole who is determined
to be at the forefront of modern technology and who is confident the
investment will be money well spent.
“The way technology moves so fast it won’t be too long
before companies will insist that any employee attending a business
seminar or conference has internet access at broadband speed so they
can keep in touch with their offices. By installing this facility, we
are ahead of the game,” he said.
The new facility will be available in all three of the main function
rooms – the Arena, Forum and the Rosetor and companies will be
able to book the service either as a package deal that will offer their
delegates unlimited use or for individual clients who will be able to
reserve a booking from half an hour up to eight hours.
Conference Torquay manager Nicky Harding explained: “The wireless
internet connection has been launched in conjunction with SPARK technology
from Norla Communications Ltd and will provide all visitors who use
a PC or laptop with wireless capability to have access to the internet.
It is tailored specifically to the needs of our conference customers
and will be a major advantage when we encourage companies to book their
meetings and conferences with us.
“It will be another reason why companies will want to book with
the Riviera International Centre because we can provide firms not only
with their conference facilities, but also with their accommodation
catering and leisure needs,” she said.
Once again the Riviera International Conference Centre remains ahead
of some of its main competitors. |
