Work Experience

We are fully committed to supporting the local community and in particular the youth of Torbay.

Which schools do we work with?
We offer each year a number of weeklong Work Experience Placements here at the Centre. Unfortunately due to the high demand for placements we have had to take the difficult decision to restrict the number of schools that we work closely with to:

• Brixham Community College
• Cutherbert Mayne
• Paignton Community College
• Torquay Boys’ Grammar School
• Torquay Community College
• Torquay Girl’s Grammar School
• Westlands

The placement
We aim to give students a broad knowledge of our business; the Centre therefore provides a placement which instead of focusing purely on one particular department, allows you to visit 5 different departments over a five-day period giving you experience of a number of different career opportunities.

All placements at the Centre are subject to a successful informal interview and subsequent placement availability within the departments (Please note that placements are strictly limited).

How do I apply?
In the first instance please write to the HR & Training Manager here at the Centre outlining the dates that you require, together with a little bit about you, what you would like to achieve from the placement, the school that you attend and finally your contact telephone number. We will then be in touch with you to discuss your request further.
