Stay connected at the RICC with free WiFi
The Riviera International Conference Centre (RICC) is now offering free WiFi to delegates and customers.
This new provision will be particularly beneficial to the many conference and meeting delegates who pass through their doors each year. In addition the free WiFi will extend to customers in their in-house coffee shop the Bay Brasserie as well as in their reception areas.
It is common for conference centres and venues to charge for this facility, a policy that the RICC has adopted in the past.
“We have charged a nominal fee for WiFi in the past, however as mobile and tablet usage has rapidly increased in recent years, we believe this provision is essential to ensure we stay up-to-date with customer expectations and evolving industry standards,” said Simon Jolly, RICC General Manager.
Simon continued: “Delegates and exhibitors visiting the RICC for business demand fast and efficient internet access for a variety of essential purposes including networking and digital media. Free WiFi will enable them to stay connected to their resources and improve their productivity.
“Our leisure customers will also benefit from the ability to peruse online news with a cup of steaming coffee, instant message their friends or carry out some of their many daily tasks online in the comfort of our cosy coffee shop.”
The 13meg bandwidth was installed in late December 2012 by WiFi Spark, this capacity will be further increased in 2013 by the installation of superior fibre optic links.
Nicky Harding, RICC Conference Manager said: “The ability to provide WiFi free of charge will assist us in winning conferences in the future. Competition for winning conferences and events is fierce and we are consistently striving to identify initiatives that keep us ahead of the game.”
