RICC Gets The Starbucks Treatment
The Riviera International Centre (RICC) in Torquay are thrilled to announce that as from February 2015 customers will be able to purchase a range of Starbucks coffees and drinks from its premises. This comes as the RICC reveals plans for a brand new café bar to replace their current food and drink operation, with the Bay Brasserie being refurbished and replaced with the Aqua Lounge.
Simon Jolly, General Manger said,
“We have been exploring options with Starbucks for a couple of years and the planned modernisation of our coffee shop presented the perfect opportunity for us to begin working with the Starbucks brand. We are therefore delighted to be joining others such as selected Marriot and Crown Plaza Hotels, Heathrow Terminal 5 and P&O Ferries.”
As one of the newest recruits the Aqua Lounge will carry the new core Starbucks branding, one of only 28 other venues in the UK to benefit from the new branding, whilst also participating in the brand’s four main annual promotions.
Plans for the proposed new café bar will shortly be unveiled as work started at the beginning of January 2015. The new café will be of a contemporary and open plan design incorporating new colour scheme, bespoke counters and bar, modern self-service fridges, new lounge chairs and dining furniture, as well as a pirate themed soft play area for children. This will include hanging snakes, crawl tubes, dizzy discs and slides.
Grace MacDowall, leading the project said:
“We are aiming to provide an environment for relaxed and informal dining, for both families and holiday makers to enjoy alongside our regular centre members and visitors. The chosen design cleverly incorporates different zones to accommodate those wishing to relax with a coffee as well as those wanting to purchase food and stay for longer.
A fresh menu will be introduced as part of the redevelopment which will include light snacks, gourmet burgers, fresh cakes and an extensive children’s menu alongside familiar favourites”.
The refurbishment project began on 2nd January 2015 and will be completed within 4 weeks. A temporary coffee shop service is being provided in the Rosetor, adjacent to main reception, whilst the work is carried out.
