Don't let wet weather put a dampener on your Fete
This summer the Riviera Centre has created an ingenious weather-proof 'Plan B' option for fete's and sports day organisers facing a weather forecast of rain, rain and more rain on the day of their event.
Subject to availability, the Riviera Centre can accommodate outdoor school and community based events throughout June, July and August completely free of charge with just 24 hours notice if the weather forecast is predicting rain.
"The Riviera Centre was built for the benefit of the local community, said Barry Cole, Managing Director of the Riviera Centre.”In turn as a good will gesture we are willing to waiver the room hire charge for last minute bookings so that bad weather does not result in an event for the community being cancelled."
Events include primary school sports days, dog shows and flower shows among others which have become increasingly vulnerable to rain checks in the past couple of years.
"I have experienced first hand the disappointment for both organisers and attendees when an outdoor event is cancelled due to bad weather, said Jenny Thompson, Operations Manager at the Riviera Centre. "And so providing our Arena is available, we can accommodate up to 1,500 people in a safe, dry environment with no need for wellies or umbrellas!"
If your community event is facing cancellation from predicted bad weather call the Riviera Centre on 01803 299 992 and ask to speak to the Duty Manager.
